Review by hotel critic
I recently took a breather and stayed at the Barceló Istanbul, and it was just what I needed. Nestled conveniently in the city, I found myself easily slipping into a routine of relaxation. The spa, spanning 1500 m^2 on the 11th floor, was a delightful escape. I indulged in a traditional Turkish hammam, followed by some time in the sauna, which was a peaceful way to unwind after a long day exploring the city. The fitness facilities were decent-perfect for keeping my marathon training on track. Though the breakfast didn't rise to the expectations of a five-star hotel, it provided a solid start to my days. What stood out was the tranquil ambiance. Sometimes just taking a moment on the sun terrace overlooking the city was enough to recharge. A special nod goes to the staff-they were keen to assist without overshadowing the peaceful vibe of the hotel. If you're in need of a restful getaway in Istanbul, this could be a solid option. Just remember, take advantage of that spa!
